A novelty product design (the product is now on the market in Australia) for MDI Australia. This little rat is stuck in a trap, and he'll do or say anything to get out of it! (I didn't draw the trap in because it had already been made; our supplier just needed artwork of the rat itself).

Crikey Duck Splash Page #1 by Ailurophile

At the end of the first story arc in Crikey Duck, Vicki and I collaborated on this splash page. We both worked on the layout, I did the pencils and the inks, and Vix did the coloring (with me nagging over her shoulder). Our process can be ridiculously collaborative sometimes. I've recently handed over pencilling duties to Vix entirely, to give me time to focus on writing for the comic and my freelancing, but I'm going to continue doing the splash pages. Trade with the lovely Coral, who has fan-characters based on the Sonic the Hedgehog universe. I've never been into it, but the style was a fun experiment! I made her too lanky. The wave was simple, but a lot of fun... I think it's my favourite part of this, actually.

I like big nuts and a I cannot lie! This trade is for the incredibly talented Karri Aronen. His English is shaky and he needed the joke explained to him - but when he got it it slotted right in with his sense of humor, which, if you know him, is incredibly dodgy. I love the idea of a guy who draws this anachronistic adult stuff in the style of the cute old Disney comics from the 1940's.
